I got a photo placed in Runner's World Magazine, January 2012 issue. A little story about the fastest US marathons mentions the Mohawk Hudson River Marathon and they included one of the pix I took. It's not the first time I've gotten into RW though. Had a letter to Dr George Sheehan printed a long time ago, then a pic of me with the GE T&F team at the Corporate Cup Relays in 1984 and a comment on the RW online forum just a couple years back.

I guess so. Others told me they have it. I do not subscribe to it myself. Of course I knew a month ago it would be because they requested the photo.

Jack: You are an inspiration for me. I ran a few marathons and lots of 10Ks in my 30s. I stopped, actually for other reasons than my valve. Now that my BAV and the other reasons are resolved, I want to get back to it. It's been almost 30 years since I last ran. I went out for a jog last week and didn't get far. Actually not much different than when I first started running ages ago, so I just need to keep at it.

Well, yeah, any time you sit down for more than 6-8 weeks, it's like beginning again. Can't tell you how many times I had to start over in those 30 years, including last spring after a long foot injury. Remember Cool Hand Luke? Kept getting knocked down but always got back up again. That's how you have to be.

I'm not noted for photography, far from it, I'm a terrible photog. What my daughter said on Facebook about this, "Even a blind squirrel sometimes finds a nut.". Here's more of what I've been up to lately.

Th Finch Who Stole Christmas

Th Finch Who Stole Christmas

I mentioned I was more into art than photography. Here's a link. This time I put a drawing in an art show in Clifton Park, NY and added a little touch of humor. I called it "The Finch Who Stole Christmas" and it got First Place. I was drawing this when I got the email about the upcoming show. It had a holiday theme, so I added a bit of holiday decoration to it just to be funny and apparently the judges liked that.
