Hi everyone. This is Gary, Allison's husband. She had her Ross Procedure performed today by Peter Skillington, who has done more than 300 RPs in Melbourne. He was really happy with how it went - reported that her valve was in pretty poor shape. She was wide awake six hours later and indicating she wanted her breathing tube to be removed, so nursing staff also happy with her progress. Still likely to be intensive care for a couple of days, but so far it is all good news. Tks for your moral support in past few months - it has meant a lot to her. :)

Wow! Wide awake so fast after all that? She must be super-woman.

Gary - Thanks for the update. We are all smiles that Allison is doing so well and wish that her recovery continues on a stellar pace.

Go Class of 2011!

That is awesome, awake 6 hours later. Good for her and my best wishes that the gods continue to be kind .

I am sur e that Gary, her daughter and all our board family agree Steve ....keep us posted as our sister head down, hopefully, a smooth recovery road

What great news Thank you so much for taking the time to update us. I know it can be hard, but make sure you take care of yourself now too, try to eat good and sleep so you aren't run down when Allison comes home.

Thank you so much for the update on Allison, Gary. Wishing her a bump free and smooth recovery. Take good care of yourself and don't forget to get some rest. :)

Thanks for the update, Gary; glad she's doing so well. Continued best wishes :)

Hi Gary,
My thoughts were with Allison on the 22nd and it's great news that the op went well. It's appriciated you letting us all know how things went. Wishing Allison all the best for the recovery ahead I'm sure being an Aussie she will be fine. Take care.

Hi everyone. Allison's husband Gary here again. Just letting you know she is coming home tomorrow - exactly one week after the Ross Procedure op, which is a couple of days earlier than we had anticipated. Cardiologist and surgeon both v happy with her progress. She had an echo today and was given the all clear. She's looking forward to being able to get some decent sleep (hopefully) instead of being in a busy, noisy hospital. I am sure Allison will be on here soon to tell you how it went. And good luck to Steve Epstein for his procedure tomorrow (US time).
