Hi all,

I just got back from a trip to my parents in central Maine to help fix their computer and on my way up, I was seeing dead deer, foxes, and racoons all up and down Rt 95. On my way home, I was doing 70mph (I had cruise control on) and I had to swerve to keep from hitting a wild turkey that just happened to fly right into my path....so I just want to let yall know....be careful driving as you never know what's gonna jump out at ya and go THUD!!!...as an animal lover, this would have upset me greatly as did my seeing all the dead animals all up and down the highway.....Not Pretty:(:eek::( Just wanted to warn yall if you come to Maine....BE EXTREMELY Careful....Harrybaby:eek:

that's because it's spring time up there and therefore mating time. They are coming out of their habitat looking for a love. We went to a local small family zoo in early spring and everything had its feathers out, animals following other animals, some doing strange dances, etc. They were completely unaware of anything else around them.

*chuckles*

Figures. They're getting some...and I'm not.

And, Harry, that isn't the road trip from heck. A number of years ago now, my sis and I went from Elgin IL to Holsopple PA for the annual family reunion. Except, it was the weirdest trip. We left Elgin bound for central Indiana to see some friends for dinner. Half way through Chicago, an orange film got all over my car (then, my '97 Corsica/"malibu"). Road construction forced us to be WAY late to our friends in Indiana...so, we had to stop elsewhere for dinner. We left there, planning to drive straight through the night and arrive around 2am or so PA time. Heh. Road construction forced us a few miles out of the way to get to I-70. Once on I-70, things were fine...until we decided to take the "quicker" way to Holsopple and go the Turnpike. Wrong decision. We no sooner got on the Turnpike...and we saw a police car parked on the side of the road with his lights flashing...and headlights facing traffic. We were then PARKED on the turnpike for OVER an hour. When we finally got moving again, we discovered what the issue was. An "overhead erection". Yes...you read that correctly. Apparently, construction crews were erecting a new bridge over the Turnpike.... We finally got to our destination (a cousin's home) about 5 am............

Course, we laugh about it now...and so enjoy telling that tale of woe ;).
