Hi Everyone!
I had my surgery 14 weeks ago. I know you can start to feel sore again from the nerves healing back together, but I have started getting pain in my right shoulder blade. I had it a couple of weeks ago after my 4 year old slept in my bed. It also started again yesterday. My 4 year old slept in my bed for two nights again because family came to visit. I am thinking it is a combination of still healing and sleeping funny because of my daughter. Has anyone else had a similar experience?
I also had a weird experience yesterday while opening up some packages. The small fleshy area of my left hand felt tingly/numb. Just for about a minute. I had no other symptoms what so ever. I'm thinking that maybe I just pinched a nerve or something while opening a package. I would have thought if it was anything more serious it would have lasted longer and also would have effected more than the fleshy part of my hand (below my pinky, near the wrist).

Take Care!
Gail

I have felt some discomfort in my right shoulder on and off, especially when trying to sleep. If I lay on my right side, with my right arm extended in front of me, it feels very good. I have attributed it to the surgery, right or wrong. My discomfort has never been severe, just a minor discomfort.

Many causes

Many causes

For shoulder pain..It takes a long time for everything to heal back in place. I hurt if I drove too much..turning my head, ect...alsovaccumming still hurts and I am 9 months.I like to cook in an old iron skillet but make hubby lift it up on top of stove. Did you reach out to wipe mirror or windows? If I nap I wake up with numb tingling feet, hands..I'm giving it a year for my innards to go back together:D :D :D If not I will declare myself a Senior citizen.:p :p Bonnie

Hi,

I found some of these problems arise from posture after surgery. A few months after Cardiac Rehab, I went to physical therapy. It really helped to learn of various excercizes that help 'extend and stretch' the chest and other muscles and get your posture back in order. If any problems continue you might check with your Doc and see if s/he thinks this might help.

Shoulder pain in front also

Shoulder pain in front also

Gail, I also have had shoulder pain, but instead in the front left area. Comes and goes. Nothing to bad that I have to take medication or something. Just makes me wonder what is up?
It will be lyr Jan 24,2003. Thought I was over all the little aches and pains. It's always nice to hear from someone else that is having the same problem.. Sylvia G.:( :p :p :p

One of my complaints about this surgery is the little info that is available from the local practitioners.

I would have liked to be told some exercises that I could do to get back on track. Only one I got was the #$@%^&$# SPIROMETER. Now don't get me wrong, I think it was needed, but I would have liked to know the best way to strech and remobilize the rest of my body, short of going to REHAB which they are only talking about now 15 or 16 weeks post op. At a check up with my Cardiologist about 7 weeks he said any exercise I wanted to do. Now that was not much help.

Hi Gail

I too with in the past two weeks have a very sharp piercing pain in my left sholder blade. I attribute it to starting to sleep on my sides again. It's funny, if I sleep on my right side my left blade gets bad. I've tried on my left side and it seems not to bother it too bad. Funny how the opposite side is affected. Oh well guess we have to heal or resign to the fact that we are now "senior citizens". NO NO just have to heal.:) :)

Jinx me

Jinx me

Gail...:D Reached with my right arm over to the far left and had that sharp piercing in back of right shoulder. Went away in a few minutes:p :p Don't reach out or to the side..   And I'm 9 months:mad: Bonnie

Hey Bonnie!
I didn't mean to send out any negative vibes there. LOL!!!!
When I got up this morning my shoulder still felt sore, but it felt better than it did the day before. I think it had something to do with the way I was sleeping. Three people in a queen size bed just doesn't work well (me, my daughter and husband). :D :D
Thanks everyone for your input. You all are wonderful!

Take Care!
Gail

same problem

same problem

I had the same problem with right shoulder pain. My shoulder hurt worse than my chest did! This continued to about 11 weeks post op and I have had a few "relapses" of that pain since then, but it's mostly gone now at 14 weeks post-op.
