Hi all, I was on this forum about 18 years ago before I had my first aortic valve replacement for a bicuspid valve, regurgitation, and a tumor (papillary fibroelastoma) in my outflow tract. I underwent AVR with a homograft at Mayo clinic and did great for many years, climbing and summiting Mount Rainier 4 times. Over the past 1.5 years noted decreased exercise tolerance and now become short of breath climbing one flight of stairs, and have severe regurgitation. So scheduled for my second OHS, this time with a mechanical valve, hopefully to avoid a third surgery later. So I'm back and trying to find information on anticoagulation therapy and exercise with a mechanical valve. Sorry I have been gone so long!
