Thanks for the article, G.....I've forwarded it on to Tyce at his office, so he can share it with his colleagues. He has his glass of red every day......Be well.

Thanks for the article on red wine. I have a high cholesteral number, but my ratio is the best my docs. have seen. They all seem amazed! [don't have the numbers right in front of me, but can post them later if anyone is interested]. Anyway, I know it is the red wine I drink that makes my ratio so great! Can you drink red wine when on coumadin? My father-in-law was on coumadin and I remember when he had to give up all alcoholic beverages. Come on, we have to have some fun in life. . .

I have been on coumadin now for 4-1/2 years and I sure drink red wine--white wine and pink wine as well! Can't say there has been any noticeable issue with it. Here's to it! Susan;)

Yea for Red Wine

Yea for Red Wine

Susan:

That is good news. So if I get a mechanical valve, I can still enjoy my red wine. Somewhere I had gotten the impression that alcohol and coumadin don't mix.

Moderation is the key with alcohol and coumadin. You cannot be an alcoholic! A couple as in 2 maybe 3 drinks a day and you should be fine. Not 2 or 3 fifths or cases. :D
