Just wanted to say Hi again to everyone. Happy Belated Birthday Granbon!!!
Barbara please post and let us see how your surgery went also please.
As for mine, it went well....Ended up with the Ross Peocedure after all. 1 small scare about bleeding, but other than that went without a hitch. Op was on the morn of the 10th, and woke up in ICU on morn of 11th. Tubes, etc were just about how you all had described. Unfortunately, I was awake for all of their removal (I told the CVN that i must have lost a bet with her or something...haha) but once they are out life gets a whole lot better. And that doesn't take long really. They got me walking immediately, which I was thankful for actually...my butt wa killing me from sitting in bed! Is still more comfortable propped up during sleep, but I am slowly moving to a more level position. I still can't believe how weak it makes you feel. But it definitely does! I feel jsut occassional soreness now, but am walking religiously. I wanted to thank you all for keeping this web site up and allowing people to browse in here. I read a lot more than I posted, but I appreciateall the information and comfort. God Bless you all and if there is anyone I can help or answer questions for, please don't hesitate to post. I'll keep in touch.

God Bless You All,
Wade
P.S. came home yesterday 6-14 (sat) and am happy to be home with loving family. Take Care all ::))

Hi Wade-

I was wondering how things went for you, so I'm very happy to hear that it went really well, and you are home and in healing mode.

I'm so glad you got the procedure you wanted.

Keep us posted as you progress.

Take care,

Welcome back Wade

It's great to hear that your home and things went pretty uneventful. It's amazing how much energy gets knocked right out of you, isn't it? You'll be back to your old self soon.

Now about not posting much before surgery-Stick around and share your knowledge with those that come in here scared, nervous, and all the good things that you were when you came in. You have been intiated now and your more then qualified to assist. ;)

Happy Healing Wade!

Happy Healing Wade!

Hey Wade,

I created valvereplacement.com for people like you, and it warms my repaired heart (yes, even the cold mecahnical part) to hear of those who it has helped.

I was adrift on the ocean of ignorance when I found out I needed surgery. While recovering, I decided to help drain this ocean.

I have learned much since then, and this site and the people it has helped have made all the hours worth while.

I am happy your surgery went well.

Enjoy the amazement you will experience at the miracle our bodies are when it comes to their ability to heal themselves.

Happy Healing,

Just me again!
Ross, anyone at all that I can help I will I promise. Any questions that I see that I can answer I will.
Hank, just want to congratulate you on taking the initiative to begin a site liek this. I was obviously a better listener than a communicator, but I plan to change that. The info your site provided was invaluable. I can't say it made it hurt less (HAHA) but it definitely made the unexpexcted more expected. Didn't hurt that there are so many good people here willing to share an at times forgettable experience. Thanks Again.

Keep on Tickin'
Wade

Congrats Wade

Congrats Wade

So glad to hear you sound so good. I know that the site helps pre-op folks a lot; but I found it totally helpful post-op; there was no other way to judge if my recovery was going well or par for the course or just slow. And the really nice thing is that folks around here don't mind answering the same questions over and over.

So as we all say - breathe, walk and nap. Often. Regularly. And you have every right to be proud of yourself for coming through this bloody, bruised, but unbowed. :D ( and, unlike Bonnie, but like you, I too was awake and feeling when all of the icky tubes and wires were removed. And NOT a fave memory)

Good news

Good news

Great to hear from you Wade and to know all went well. Your sunrises and sunsets will probably look a little prettier for you now. Keep up the breathing and excercise and you find that soreness going away and your energy building a little every day for the next few months. Consider participation in a cardiac rehab program in a few weeks at the discretion of your doc. Chris

Hey Wade,
Glad to hear that you are home and starting your recovery, you will be amazed how well you will feel each day. Take care and hope everything turns out OK.

Dave

hi wade!
what a great post to return to... i'm so glad that you are doing so well and that things went smoothly.
please try and be patient with your recovery... don't do too much and rest as you need to. your body had been through a lot.
continue your walking, breathing and resting and please let us know how you are doing.
wishing you a continued easy recovery.
all the best, sylvia

Hey Wade

Hey Wade

Great that you are doing so well, so full of energy and spunk. Just take it one day at a time. No heavy lifting. You will yourself soon. And you do better at home than at the jail. He! He! I was a kid when a person had to stay in the hospital from one to two months. That was hard. Keep doing well and do not push the recovery.

I am so glad to read your posts, Wade. I'm hoping that your recovery continues to progress smoothly. Don't forget to walk, breathe and nap;) God Bless.

Congratulations, Wade. I am a little over two months post-op now. It really is amazing how you can literally start feeling better every day (although there was an occasional step backwards and if that happens don't get discouraged). I enjoyed my recovery by taking long walks and stopping to smell the roses (literally). I knew sooner than later I'd be back in my old routine. Continued success.

Paul

Hi Wade and Welcome Home Again

So glad everything went well for you. Keep on walking, breathing, and napping.

Hey, Wade -
Just rolled over your post (really busy getting ready for summer things, kid, etc.) and was . . . delighted and, let me just call it "comforted" to hear that not only did your surgery go so well, but also that you seem to be at such peace with the process thus far. Peace of mind goes a long way toward helping the body to heal.

Do try to do what the others tell you to do (Can't advise, as I'm still pre-op), stay well, and stay connected. We'll be here.

Epstein - Are you sure you're a potential surgery candidate or did you just find some nice lookin ladies in the waiting room ?

Hi Wade -
Sounds like you are doing just great - must have been the magic June 10 date - b/c I am also doing pretty good - as long as I don't cough - or sneeze (only sneezed once) -
I am only taking Tylenol so far today and yesterday - I'm going out for short walks - 5-10 min - strolls actually - just once a day - I am too paranoid to walk too fast etc. - and fairly active here at home - get up and walk around etc. etc. how are you doing with that part of it - i.e. I feel OK, but am being extra careful - I think I will be much better when the cardio rehab starts so I will have some definite guidelines -
I was going to go "Chat" but i can't find out how right now - and I have already allotted my time - so I wil sign off for now - unless i can figure it out and hope to hear from you -
I'm happy you are doing so well -
Barbara
