Ok...first I know I'm going to get a big "I told you so" from some of you guys, but here goes anyway. I have a rash on my arms and legs as well as my chest which I suspect is caused from the amiodarone. A rash is listed as one of the side effects, but I don't know how serious it is. I asked my local Dr. about going off of it when I was there last week and he asked me to stay on it. However, now that I have had this rash for a week or so and it isn't getting any better, I'm concerned that I should push to get off this drug. Do any of you have any information about this drug and a rash?

Thanks,

Kim

rash

hi, adam had the same problem about two weeks ago that is right after i read all of the things about the drug here and i called cc right away and they said if the echo went up to an ef of 45 then they would take him off it was a 30/35 when we left cc and it went up to a 35/40 which wasnt quite enough, so they didnt want him off of it yet then cc wanted him to see an electro physiologist on monday but we couldnt make it to cleveland so we will have to reschedule or see someone around here, i would like for him to be off of it so bad when i read all of the effects it scares me but the rash went away it took about a week, but last night he had a spell where his eye got blurred and he got real dizzy then sick at his stomach the cardio said to take him to the er and get him checked out evidently it wasnt his heart everything was the same the docs all seemed to think it was from medication did you ever get that. so all i know is that they need to get him off of it asap, they seem to not want to yet though, so i dont know what to do. i have enough for the next 2 weeks then he wont have to take it anymore, but shouldnt 4 weeks be enough. the rash will go away though, even though it took awhile.

I had a rash a couple of weeks after my OHS and was on amiodarone but I don't think the rash was anything to do with that, it was probably my INR as that was 8.9 at the time - it was petechiae.
