It's whining time . I'm fighting a cold for the 2nd time in a month - and I'm losing the battle so far. I'm sure that I'll get better (keep telling myself that anyway), but after three days, I'm pretty fed up.

You name the symptom and I've got it.
Temp 100-101.5
Muscle aches
Night sweats
Watery eyes
Sinuses stuffed to capacity
Runny nose
Ringing in both ears - one high, one low
Stuffy chest and productive coughing
Little appetite

I told my wife, I felt like I was going to die, and my biggest fear was that I wouldn't  . Just kidding - weak attempt at humor ;) - please don't call out the suicide squad :) .

I hear a high-pitched pinging from the valve, in addition to the standard click. That's a new sound for me. Between the valve click/ping and the musical ears, I've got a band performing in me - non stop. It's driving me nuts. I'm in a fog, sleeping most of the day and night. Not good sleep, but every minute that I'm asleep, is a minute without misery.

I've been taking Tylenol, Robitusin, and at night Benadryl. They hardly put a dent in the symptoms, but the Benadryl does help me sleep (see above). My doctor called an antibiotic prescription into the pharmacy. Haven't picked it up yet, didn't even bother to ask what it is. He suspects bronchitis or sinusitis, but probably not the flu. Oh joy!

Then the thermostat on the hot tub goes bad (not that I've used it while sick). Then the stove top goes bad. And worse yet, the remote control for the satelite dish goes on the fritz! How much must I endure? :D

I've been trying not to complain, but thought I'd unload on y'all anyway. Thanks for listenning (reading) :D

Oh Tom,

I feel bad just reading what you've written! Thank Goodness, I've only had one episode of upper respiratory junk this year, and I'm praying that will be all.
No offense, but PLEASE try to confine it to Texas. You live in a big state; you can keep it contained!
I hope you feel better soon!

Mary

Get well soon, Tom! I've dodged that "stuff" so far this season...but the bell tolls!

Been there done that - in fact ahve done it the last 2 weeks - quite miserable actually!!! Think it turned from Respiratory into Sinus Infection. On Antibiotics now. Such is the nature of colds - they suck!!!

Hope You Feel Better Soon...

I too have been battling Bronchitis and Another, Yes Another Viral Infection, so I know how you are feeling, and I hope that you get over this as soon as possible, as I know it makes you feel horrible. Take Care, Harrybaby666 :D

Thanks eveyone. Slept pretty well last night. Feeling a little better this morning. :)

Erica and Harry, I know I'm not the only one. Thanks for the encouragment. Harry, nice animation. It is pretty accurate.

Betty, it may be the flu afterall, but I waited too long for the doc to prescribe the "anti flu" medicine. So we won't call it the flu. Let's call it the "non-flu". Or how about "the illness formerly known as the flu".

Mary, I haven't left the house in 3+ days, so I doubt that I have passed the germ on as far north as Missouri. I may take a walk later today. I'll be sure to breath south for ya. :D

Les, keep washing those hands and keep them away from you face. I must admit that my exercise program and water drinking have taken a month's vacation. Maybe it's time to get back into training! Well, in a few days, maybe.

BTW The antibiotic is Amoxicillin.

Time for a nap. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
