Question for Ross - Coumadin & Diet

When I first read the post about Ross's "Coumadin Restricted" hospital diet I remember seeing an image attachment that showed what this hypothetical diet restricted. I seem to remember that citrus was on there and I'm curious if there's a reason why.

Mind you, I understand that this diet doesn't exist & stuff, I'm just wondering if citrus plays a role in INR levels like leafy greens do. I poked around a bit looking for the answer and haven't found it so I thought I would ask.

Yes, grapefruit juice is why it was on the ticket. Why they simply didn't state NO GRAPEFRUIT OR JUICE, I don't know. Easier to say no citrus I guess.

After reading that article I'm now grateful I don't like grapefruit juice. They should restrict its sales to behind the pharmacy counter with the sudafed.

I drink it anyway, I just don't drink it within 4 hours of taking my meds. Seems to be ok doing this.
