Hi All,

I have been reading a presentation from SJM regarding the impact of pataint proshesis mismatch (PPM), and I have the following questions:

I am 6'0 tall and 190 lb. My aortic valve area is estimated at 23mm. Does any one know what would be my BSA? What is the vivo EOA (cm2) of the standard SJM mechanical valve for my valve size?

Apprently the EOAI = vivo EOA/ BSA and it must be greater than 0.9 cm2/m2 to avoid PPM.

In my case, is there any significant advantage for Regent valve compare to standard SJM mechanical valve? Apparently my suergon claims Regent valve design makes it much more difficult more stiching.

Like always I highly appreciate the attention that you are giving me.

Thanks and Best regards,

You might email St. Jude with that question. As for the Regent valve, it can be turned and inserted, so I don't see why it would be more stitching. Maybe someone around here can answer your question, but it's not I.
