As I have had lots of time on my hands to think about my upcoming OH surgery scheduled for this September, I got to thinking about a few things...
I am aware that my aortic valve will need to be replaced; however, I have been told that I also have moderate pulmonary valve regurgitation/insufficiency (worse since the last echo 9 months ago).
In addition to replacing my aortic valve, the surgeon mentioned that he will attempt to 'repair 'the pulmonary valve while 'he is in there', but he did not sound too promising. It would be great to hear from any members who may have had a pulmonary valve repair. What was the outcome? How long did it last? Did anyone have this done at the same time as AVR? I don't think this is too common?
