I'm sorry -- I'm not a mom so I don't have any children whose achievements I can sing praises about.
However ...
I have a wonderful nephew, Ryan Burchfield. (Google his name -- it's out there, he's not Ryan Burchfield the musician, though).
Ryan is in grad school (computer science/engineering & design) at the University of Texas at Dallas. He made all A's this semester (whoo-hoo!). In addition, UTD wants to patent one of his research projects (a medical device). He wrote a paper about some of his research results; UTD profs were so pleased that it looks like he'll get to present the paper at a conference in Canada.
He'll be 22 in May and will lack only 3 hours for his MS then, hopes to finish by August. (He just got his BS in May 2006.)
He's putting together applications for his doctorate.
It's nice to have a smart nephew, but it's even nicer that he's a loving, thoughtful one, too.

Hi Marsha,

WOW!!! You certainly couldn't keep all those accomplishments under your hat!
You go ahead and brag all you want, he is family after all, and I'm sure you were an important part of his life while he was growing up. Everybody's input along the way determines a child's character and future. He's lucky to have an Aunt like you.:)

Congratulations to you and Ryan. I'm sure you have a special place in his heart with good reason, Marsha!
