Oh my gosh....that made me cry. He is truly an amazing young man.

There is a boy here in Kilkenny, who I looked after when I worked in a day centre for children with special needs a few years ago, who is exactly the same. He is now going to secondary main streem school. I pray that he also finds his place in life.

Chris walks around this house ho humming and complaining about his foot that he still has. I want him to see this! Chris may still, even after 11 surgeries now, have it amputated. I'm my opinion, if it's keeping him from living life, then get rid of it. If it's not, stop whining about it and start thinking of something you can do with your life. Maybe that sounds cold and cruel considering all he's been through, but it's not like there isn't anything he can do. He needs to start trying.

I had a friend back in the early 80's that had a son like that. He was amazing to watch the way he could move around even as a toddler. He didn't even realize he had a disablity when he was that young. That he was different. He just knew that like any other baby he wanted to get from point A to point B and he would do it. He was a good natured child. I had heard through the years that he turned out to be very smart, positive and creative adult.

There is a lesson to be learned seeing someone overcoming all obstacles and succeeding. Whether they are born with disability challenges or acquire them later in life.

You are right Ross, Chris needs to get off the pity potty. He's just not there yet. It is a traumatic thing he went through, but Yes, he needs to try and move on. If you do nothing, nothing will happen.

Thanks for sharing that video. Did you show that to Chris?

Haven't had Chris around since I got it. Went to visit a friend yesterday and never came back. Too bad he can't move in with them! Doesn't it seem like I'm getting a little tired of having him home?

Oh boy, that is a tough situation. That age group doesn't usually want to talk to "elders" about their thoughts and fears.
Would he go to some kind of support group with other injured young people?

That's the video I was talking about Ross. Thanks for posting it so others can see this amazing young man.

THE STRENGHT TO GET UP.........SO TRUE ROSS
