Hi everyone. I haven't written for a few months. Time goes by so fast.
My wife, Willow, is now 17 weeks pregant (18 on monday). We did an ultrasound on tuesday. The baby is perfectly healthy. We also found out that we're having a GIRL! My wife is soooooooo excited. I must admit I'm a little nervous. As many of you already know we had a boy on our first pregnancy. I know boys. But raising a girl? Well thank goodness I have a wife who understands girl things. Because this is our last biological baby, having a girl is perfect.
Willow was on Lovenox until this week. She is now on coumadin. Her dose is 5 mg. She will stay on this until 27 weeks and then go back to lovenox. We are trying to make it until 32 weeks. Willow also has a history of preeclampsia. But so far she's doing great. The doctors are amazed at how well Willow is doing. She is on bed rest. She usually has blood test two/three times a week. We are in california. Her doctor is the head of the USC Heart Disease Program. He has been incredible. He had to go to Israel this week, but he called us today at 3:00 a.m. his time. They are using Willow's case with the American Heart Association to help establish guidelines for women with valve's on pregnancy. We plan on delivering at UCLA Medical Center. The due date for our baby is January 1, 2007.
I'll try to keep everyone updated. If anyone has a private question they would like to ask please feel free to email me.
Take Care,
Anthony
