Hi everyone. I haven't written for a few months. Time goes by so fast.

My wife, Willow, is now 17 weeks pregant (18 on monday). We did an ultrasound on tuesday. The baby is perfectly healthy. We also found out that we're having a GIRL! My wife is soooooooo excited. I must admit I'm a little nervous. As many of you already know we had a boy on our first pregnancy. I know boys. But raising a girl? Well thank goodness I have a wife who understands girl things. Because this is our last biological baby, having a girl is perfect.

Willow was on Lovenox until this week. She is now on coumadin. Her dose is 5 mg. She will stay on this until 27 weeks and then go back to lovenox. We are trying to make it until 32 weeks. Willow also has a history of preeclampsia. But so far she's doing great. The doctors are amazed at how well Willow is doing. She is on bed rest. She usually has blood test two/three times a week. We are in california. Her doctor is the head of the USC Heart Disease Program. He has been incredible. He had to go to Israel this week, but he called us today at 3:00 a.m. his time. They are using Willow's case with the American Heart Association to help establish guidelines for women with valve's on pregnancy. We plan on delivering at UCLA Medical Center. The due date for our baby is January 1, 2007.

I'll try to keep everyone updated. If anyone has a private question they would like to ask please feel free to email me.

Take Care,
Anthony

Oh my gosh, Anthony, it is so good to hear from you. We have been wondering how things are going. Your story is an inspiration to us here and will be very helpful to others.
How exciting that you are having a girl and that she is healthy. It sounds like everything is being done right and I hope Willow doesn't get too crazy from being stuck in bed. What a great gift she will get for doing so.
Please keep us posted and all our prayers go out to you and Willow and your baby.

Hi Anthony,

I had wondered how things were going with you both since your initial post a while ago. So glad to hear that both the baby and Willow are well so far. Keep us updated on their progress and all the best for a healthy beautiful baby.

Hey Anthony! I was so happy to read your post and learn how well Willow is doing and that you're having a healthy baby girl! How exciting! Tell her to enjoy her rest in bed if she can, because she'll soon enough be running around like crazy with your little boy and the new baby! Again, so happy for you both.:D LINDA

Anthony, it's so nice to hear from you. I was wondering how Willow was doing. Please give her my best. Also, there is another member going through a pregnancy with a prosthetic valve (Karen7). If you get on the Valve Selection forum and look up pregnancy and tissue valves, you can read her posts. Best of luck and please keep us informed.

Please keep us updated on Willow's pregnancy.

Our daughter had mitral repair at age 26 and is expecting their first baby. So far (26 weeks), Mother and baby are healthy. She is being followed by her OB and perinatologist.

Please keep us updated on your daughter as well. My interest has become a bit less abstract. :)
