Went for preop testing yesterday. Probably nothing most of you haven"t done. Took some arterial blood, some venous blood, did an EKG, Chest Xray etc.
Finished dental work at 5:30 pm, Dentisit will report to surgeon and Dentist said if surgeon wants anything else done that he would work his lunch hours, or open his office at 5am to do whatever it takes to get to surgery on Dec 5th. I think that he has been great squeezing me in to get all this done.
Got to tour the Heart Center at Med Central Hospital here in Mansfiled. It is separated from the rest of the hospital, and has 10 units in it. Each unit is ultra modern with residential style furnishings and is the only room I will go to postop. It has intensive care equipment as long as I need it, then it disappears into storage closets, and the room becomes a stepdown room where I will stay untill I am discharged.
Anyway I am prepared as well I can be be and anxious to get on with it. I suspect that December the 5th will be here soon enough.
In the meantime Happy Thanksgiving to all.

You're there Steve. Go with it and get it behind you. Best wishes for a great recovery!

Hi Steve

Well, you're set and ready to go....it truly is the best thing for you to get it over with, you have many years of life ahead of you. I'm sure this will be one of the best Thanksgivings you've ever had. Amazing how we take so much for granted....this was, at least for us, a real eye opener!! I take every day as a blessing with Tyce.

You will be in my prayers, and in the prayers of many others on this list......

Steve,
We'll be thinking of you and praying for you. Sounds like you are all prepared to summit the mountain on 12/5.

Sounds like you've got it together. Those rooms sound great, too. I went from SICU to the floor, private room, no step-down. Your concept sounds less traumatic.

I'm with you, buddy! You will be in my prayers next Friday.

It sounds like you will have a nice enviroment at your hospital. Sounds like some of the newer Labor and Delivery rooms I've seen. Best wishes to you next week. Keep us posted .
