Hi folks,

I have my pre-op today. I'm waiting for my husband to return from taking my daughter to the orthodontist and drop her off at school. I was lucky to overhear him call in to work and tell them he'd be there at 9:30. I guess he wasn't really present when the gal who scheduled the surgery and pre-op told him he needed to go with me today. Ah, well, I guess I can't complain too much, after all, I've been sleeping better than he has.

I've been fighting off a slight cold for the last three days. I've taken so many Cold-ease I can't taste anything anymore. I sure hope this doesn't mess things up. The flu is rampant in Denver, they've closed schools and yesterday there were 2000 new cases. A number of children have died. I know some people who have had it and it's really awful, and can take a couple of weeks to get better. I'm soooo paranoid about getting it. I think I've been more focused on getting sick than the surgery Tuesday.

Well, I better go dry my hair and take another Cold-ease. I'll let you know how it goes.:D :D

There's better stuff than over the counter cold-ease - suggest you talk to your doc or cardio NOW.

I don't blame you about the flu thing. CO's a mess with it. My mom's out there (Evergreen) and I'm paranoid - she's not letting a little thing like flu scare HER from flitting around. She's 80, and I shouldn't worry because she's awfully healthy. But you know how it goes . . .

Take VERY good care of yourself. I suspect they would delay surgery if you had flu.

Best of luck.

Marcia,

I hope that your cold doesn't prevent you from having surgery for a while. Although I'm sure that you wouldn't want to have it done under less than optimal circumstances.

I had a mild form of the flu last week. People would say how miserable it was and I wanted to say, "Grow up, it's a COLD." However, I very politely agreed with them.

Your husband is probably shook up opver your surgery. Spouses suffer from the "fog syndrome", too.
