Prayers really needed now...

Hi Gang,
Well it looks like another tragedy has struck ole' harrybaby right in the heart(emotions wise) Another very close friend, who is a really great guy, his name is Bruce, had a massive heart attack on Tuesday. No one was able to get through to me because of my private phone number, and therefore I only found out about it when he got out of the hospital yesterday. (I made sure that his family now can call me and he is putting me on the contact list at the hospital and Dr's office) Anyway, he is REALLY REALLY SCARED to the point where he didn't want to go to bed last night, afraid that he won't wake up, and after the doc's told him that it was very very rare for someone to survive this size of a heart attack, well, it just made him even more afraid. I have been up almost all night upset about this, and it has shot my blood sugar out of sight, and I would like to ask that everyone keep Bruce in their thoughts and prayers as he starts to cope with this. I am sorry to have vented so long, I just didn't know what to do, as it has really upset me and started to cause me to not to feel so good physically. Thanks for all the prayers in advance.

Oh, Harry, I am so sorry that you have been dealt yet another blow. You and Bruce are both in my prayers. Please try and take care of yourself, too, right now. You can't support Bruce if you end up in the hosptial yourself. Sending lots of hugs and prayers and please keep us posted.

I am so sorry, Harry. I know the unfounded guilt you feel. Isn't it strange that when something happens to one we care about, we feel like 'maybe I could have done something'. Thank You All for your kind words...I spoke with Bruce tonight and he is so very scared right now, but I know that is to be expected, and I let him know that we are all thinking of him, and I guess that by him having this heart attack, it kinda slapped me in the face that something could happen in a blink of an eye, and maybe this was why I couldn't sleep. I know he will certainly be in my prayers as always as I keep you all in them too, but Geesh, how much more can a person possibly go through...Thanks again for all the wonderful replies and keeping Bruce in your prayers....Harrybaby

Not to sound trite but I try to believe that God doesn't give us more than we can handle. But, gosh, he sure thinks some of us have really big shoulders.
Maybe you have gone through all you have so you can help your friend through his bad times as well as those of us on VR.com.
I am sure there will come a peaceful time for you. Your determination will get you the answers you need. Keep plugging away.

Hi Harry, I'm sorry to hear about your friend Bruce - his heart attack must have been a big shock for both of you. Not sleeping and stressing out about what happened certainly won't be doing him any favours though.. I hope he is able to embrace this second chance he has been given and do whatever he needs to, to reduce the risks of another attack - including getting some sleep!!

Hopefully having you there as a friend to help support him through this scare will go a long way toward helping him calm down some.

Hi there Harry, I've just read this thread and I want you and Bruce to know that I'll too be praying for him, and you. How old is he anyway? Whatever has caused him to have the heart attack, I hope it has been fixed up by now. I can understand how scared he must be, but tell him that the fact that God has given him another chance despite the seriousness of the problem, it must mean something, and by that I mean that God still has plans for him and wants him to remain around here.
