Hi everyone,

I am asking for some prayers for Jeff. He is in the hospital but we are not sure what the problem is. He started having pains in his stomach last night, shortly after eating. He got home late and ate kind of fast and just thought it was indigestion. He took some antacid and went to bed. He was awake tossing and turning all night. He felt really bad yet this morning but got up and went to work. He came home around 8:30 am to help me get the kids around for school. He said the pain was getting worse and he felt really bad. He went out the ER and they did blood work and did a CT scan to check his appendix then they took him back again and did another one where they made him lay on his stomach. They said the scan showed his appendix was normal. There was one count that was high and one that was low or normal in his pancreas so that has them confused. They admitted him and had a surgeon check him out. He wants to keep him over night and see what happens by morning. He said that it could be some lymph nodes that are inflamed. They have him on antibiotics and said that by morning he should be feeling better if its the lymph nodes. If its the appendix, he should be having other symptoms by morning( nausea, vomiting, fever etc.). If the pain is still there but the other symptoms aren't, then they want to do exploritory surgery to see if they can see anything going on inside. If they do that, they will take the appendix anyway since they will already be inside.

Sorry this is so long. I also apologize if it doesn't all make sense. It has been a stressful day.

Thanks again for all the support I receive from this site!!
You are all great!!

Michelle,

You and Jeff have my thoughts and prayers. Love to come up with something clever to say to make you chuckle but I am not really good at that. I just send good thoughts your way and hope it is nothing more than a bad case of gas.

Prayers are on the way...hope everything is Ok and it is nothing to worry aabout it

Michelle,
You have my prayers. I hope that it turns out to be something simple.

You and Jeff are in my thoughts and prayers also. Hopefully he will be better today and home again where he belongs.

Michell, you have my prayers as well...

Michell, you have my prayers as well...

I have a question though....do you happen to know if Jeff has a high triclyceride level? If he does, this could be causing Pancreatitis...I suffer from it because my Triglycerides have run around 4000, when in fact they should only be about 150...I know that this is a long shot, but I thought it was worth mentioning so you might ask the doc to check him for that.....Hope this helps you, and please know you are in my prayers...Harrybaby:D :D :D :D

Michelle,
I'll keep both you and Jeff in my prayers. I hope they find out what's causing his pain, so they can fix it and get him back home to you and the kids.

Thanks for all the support and prayers everyone!!! They seem to have done the trick. Jeff is now out of the hospital! The doctor said it was some kind colon infection. I guess there is some kind of valve in the colon and if you eat too fast or something it can plug the valve and get infected or something. Not exactly sure what he actually said. I was at school when he was discharged from the hospital. Doesn't it figure I had to work at the school on the day he is in the hospital. But thankfully he is out and it ok.

Thanks again for all the prayers and support!!

Michelle

Glad to hear:) the good news, that Jeff is home and feeling better, all the best Paula x

I'm sure glad that Jeff is okay. You and Jeff are still in my prayers. Tell him to take it easy for a while.

Amazing what distress the colon can cause...I suffer from IBS and I'd gladly go tomorrow to have another OHS if it would cure my IBS.....absolutely paralyzing at times...Glad it was nothing too serious. I know that line makes absolutely no sense....But the OHS was nothing compared to the hell I've been thru with the other.

Michelle,

Glad all is well now and it was nothing serious. Colon pain can be pretty bad and scary. Tell Jeff he needs to slow down a little.:D ;)

Take care.
