hi a little background Kaycey is 16 and was born with congenital heart defects and has hadmany problems and needed a heart lung transplant, he family lived in Texas and about 5 years ago gave up their house jobs to move to st. Louis so Kaycey would be close to the hospital if a heart/lung became availbale, she was there about 2- years before she got her heart. a few months later she got RSV which destroyed her new lungs, she was relisted for new lungs again , but after a year on the list, her medical condition got too bad so they took her off the list. She only has a little while, left she is one of the most amazing people I know and so are her family, they gave up everything for her, w/out a 2nd thought. heree is her link www.caringbridge.org/tx/kayceygonzalez please send prayers and good thoughts her way
Also, I don't know if I allowed to ask this here, If I'm not please let me know, but IF any live in the St Louis area, Erin asked for a meal for her family, here is part of the post, Thanks for reading this long, Lyn

Many of you have asked what you can do for us at this time. The main
thing would be to pray for Kaycey she needs prayers that she will be
continue to have the courage she is so noted for and that she will
not have to suffer endlessly.

If you live around us and would like to help, a meal brought to the
house would be the best help ever. Kaycey can't stand the smell of
food and I am unable to cook. It makes it really difficult for me to
feed the rest of the family

Done, many many prayers for Kacey, love yaps

Thank you for letting us help. She is a lovely young woman and she and her family and friends will have my prayers.

I'll keep her in my prayers Lyn. I'm two hours away from St. Louis or else I would take meals to them. Thanks for posting this.

Another sad post here. Now we have another person peering down on us from heaven.
Rest in peace, Kaycey.

God, Lyn............

God, Lyn............

You know I was so devastated to read this on Kaycey's page. I couldn't even log onto any heart groups for a few days for fear of more bad news somewhere. And Ana looks so much like Kaycey before the anti-rejection meds and her condition took its toll............still she always managed to keep her chin up and a smile on her face.............sigh! This one particularly hits hard. You know that they were originally from here. Her mom Erin taught somewhere in Fort Worth. MOved to St. Louis. Waited two years for a heart/lung combo, finally get it, and then that damn RSV destroyed her new lungs. And then the final blow that Kaycey couldn't be relisted............so sad, so very sad. Sometimes life just sucks. Love you. J.

I know it hit so many of us, we've know them so long, heck I don't have lots of money to help people out, so whenever I needed pamperred chef stuff I bought it from Erin, just because they gave up so much, and yes Ana looks so much like Kaycey they have the most beautfiful eyes' I awasy thought of poor Ana too, she was like 1 when Kaycey has first listed and spent her whole preschool years in hospitals, ronnie house doctor appt andshe too is such a happy child, like kaycey, Erin and he husband did such a wonderful job of always making the best of an awful situtaion, and kaycey has done so much to make people aware of CHD and the need for organ donars, I can't even imagine how hard it will be for the whole family to find a new "normal' since this was their normal for so many years, it is just heart breaking, Lyn
