Since you are all so good at this, I thought I would ask you to pray or think (or both) for a little girl I know who is extremely sick in hospital at the moment.
She is 11 and has a serious CHD. She has been in PICU for several weeks now whilst the doctors figured out a plan of action to give her some more time with her family, since being told transplant is not an option for her any more.
This is the message her mum has written to another group I'm on...

I dont know what to write. The news is not good. Yesterday we were warned we could lose Vicky. Dr Keeton had to fight to say her on Wednesday. Yesterday the drs decided Vickys only opinion was to operate. we were warned it would be at least ten hours. After seven she came out JMr Haw couldnt do what he wanted to do because Vickys oxgyen intake was 100% and she couldnt cope with bypass. He has left Vickys chest open and is hoping to go in again on Monday. Vicky is very very ill. I almost feel it is time to let go and that is not saying Im giveing up because I would never give up on Vicky or Danielle. I jsut dont want her to suffer anymore.

On a good note Vicky headteacher came in yesterday before her op and sang to us with his guitar. What an amazing man Gary Heath is. He thanked me for allowing him to share this time when I really wanted to thank him. For a few minutes I seen our old Vicky back her face was shining and she was mouthing the words to the songs. I wished I could have taped it.

Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts wishes, gifts and cards they really are helping us cope. I thank God everyday for the people who have touched my heart. Take care everyone. Give your child/children a big hug and kiss from me. Your friend Dianexxx

Its so so sad

Thanks in advance for your thoughts
Love Emma

prayers are coming

prayers are coming

thanks for sharing with us. It's times like this that helps those of us who are recovering really remember how blessed we have been. May God protect and bless this dear child and her family as this unfolds.

I will say a special novena to St. Jude for this lovely young lady and her family.

All of your family and any of the families that are in this horrible situation. I absolutely dispise hearing of any child who is so sick like this, it just tears me apart. Please know that you all are in my heart and thoughts and prayers. Harrybaby :D :D :D

How sad............

How sad............

You know you can count on ours, too. This close to Katie's surgery, I don't know if I can handle an update, but please do keep us posted. Do you know what her defect(s) are? Again, I don't know if I want to know..............sigh!

Many hugs. J.

Thankyou all - and Diane (Vickys mum) thanks you all too. The family is very religious and so very much appreciates all the prayers and thoughts.

Janet, Vicky shares the same surgeon that saved Chloe for us so I have faith in him being able to work some magic for Vicky on Monday.
Her condition I can't quite remember I'm afraid but I'm sure her original one wasnt one you would consider to be overly complicated - pulmonary atresia amongst other things I think. She has had 3 open heart surgeries within the past 3 months though, contracted pnuemonia two weeks ago and ended up with a trachy and her problems have just gone from there, the poor child!

Thankyou again for the prayers - keep them coming. Over here we are having a prayer/thought circle in a moment at 10pm our time for Vicky where a load of us that know them and are on various heart support groups all think about them at the same time - the power of the mind can be a wonderful thing I believe!

Thinking of her!

Thinking of her!

Dear Emma, I had my first MVR at the age of ten and I can still remember so much of those days. I was so ill that the surgeon even told my parents to be prepared for the worst. Well, here I am thirty years later in line for my fourth OHS. You see, we only go when our time comes and if God thinks Vicky should remain in this world no matter how bad things may look at this moment, he'll make sure SHE WILL!! I'll keep my fingers crossed and say a very special prayer for her and her family.
