Tom Boerger

Hey,
Now over 3 weeks post op, and thought I'd better write a
note . Everything went well, ended up doing the surgery the
same day they did my heart cath; they had a cancellation so
the surgeon fit me right in.
Had the St. Jude valve put in, can hear the clicking sometimes,
but doesn't really bother me. Getting the coumadin level right
is the main thing right now. That and getting my taste buds
back. Up to 2 miles a day walking.
Anyway, continue to read all the posts I can and it continues
to be a big help. Thanks everybody. Bye for now.:)

That's great Tom-

You sound wonderful Isn't amazing that the surgeon could just fit you in when a cancellation happened. Shows you how accustomed they are doing this surgery.

I hope the rest of your recovery phase is right on track, and that you give us an update from time to time.

best wishes!

Glad to hear that you are doing well. Sounds like you were in the right place at the right time!;)
It really kinda of varies on the amount of time as to when you finally get your appitite back. It took me about a month and then OH BOY did it come back! :D :D

Take care!

Julia:)

Congrats, Tom, on doing well. You and I must have been in la-la land at the same time. My surgery was April 9th so I', just over 3 weeks out, too. Feeling good now, too.

About that appetite. I would say I less lost my appetite than I craved only certain foods. They had to be spicy. Would send my wife out for spicy Asian, spicy chili, Hot Mexican, etc. Bland food just tasted so, well, bland. Had to have a burrito today. :)

Hope all stays well for you. Keep up the good walking.

Paul

Sounds kinda like goin to the store for a loaf of bread - that casual! Aren't you glad you didn't have to labor in the waiting room. Sounds like you are doing very, very well. Don't sweat the appetite - it's hiding and will spring on you with a vengeance soon. God bless

You sound great! I'm glad you are over the mountain and doing well. Thanks for checking back in. It encourages those of us who are still in the waiting room;) .......................Betty
