We did not get around to starting this thread.

Wondering how you all made out with your INR's. Did notice a few higher numbers where no alcohol was involved.

Anyway, back to normal today 3.4!:D

Hey Gina,
I was at 2.9, but than I wasn't setting the house on fire either. lol
I tried to be a very good boy.
Did Tracy get home safe and sound?

Take Care

Dave

Hi Gina,

My INR was 2.4 which was higher than when I left N.C. for Chicago but not yet in range. This Sunday I was 2.9 which is much more to my liking but I also started back on Cardiazem and also had a flu shot so I'm curious what the next one will show.

"Good?" Well, yep.....I checked in at 3.4 which is just about as 'good' as it gets..:D

Gina -- your new avatar is great! Is Tracy still in Macau? Safe journey to him if he's not home yet.

Ok Raingirlfriend, fessup.

Hey there. Thanks for the results. Was wondering how it turned out for you all. Janie and Dave, he's still away. Returns tomorrow. Can't wait! Our daughter is really missing him as well. Not easy.

Janie, thank you for the email. Will answer when I have a moment. Will have one for Sylvia one too. ;) Oh, and Hank and Michelles reunion donation list! My VR.com "to do's" are growing. Could you imagine being Ross or Hank:eek:

Have a great day!

Right on target

Right on target

3.6 (range is 3 - 4). Hooray.

But I must fess up that I didn't have it checked until Thursday after I got back, with the idea that perhaps it would stabilize. I'd been having a bit of trouble with it for about 2 weeks prior to the reunion, so I was hoping it would be OK.

All those greens must have offset the alcohol. Or maybe it was all those eggs, bacon and sausage. :p

Georgia, I really beleive there is a fine balance between a few drinks and the greens.

Have been having small salads and veggies. Eating much healthier while adding a glass of wine every other evening. Let's say.....pleased with the way I can introduce the veggies along with some red wine (good for your heart) and stay in range. Most of the time.;)

Usually my concern is running higher than lower. Oh well, can't win them all!

?good girl?... ?fessup??!

?good girl?... ?fessup??!

Ya all just remember reunion rule number #1....... "What happens at the reunion, stays at the reunion"! :D

It?s so funny that people think ... old, wore out, tired, rocking chairs, early to bed, etc when you mention going to a heart valve replacement reunion.... Whoa!! If they only knew!

The only place I?m confessing anything is in my photo album.... I?ll bring it to future reunions. It will be a album of ALL reunions... So girlfriends... you be nice to me! lol :p

I agree Georgia.... I didn?t incriminate myself with an INR test right away. I ate salad all week then tested Friday with a perfect 3.0!! :) Yup, Rain?s a good girl! :)

Gina, your avatar is really nice! I?m gonna update mine one of these days. It?s amazing how those little girls miss their Daddy. Sara and Onyx still run to the door with a hug for Vergil every night. Sometimes they ?bout knock him down.. but he never complains. lol :)

INR high and I didn't even go to the reunion.

INR high and I didn't even go to the reunion.

I didn't make it to the reunion this year but when I tested last Tuesday my INR was 5.1. Friday 4.7 and today Tuesday 5.9.
As I said in my posts last week, it's been a hectic two weeks and I had a few Margarita's. Sunday I finished off the good times with a coffee liqueur on the rocks. No wonder it is high, have to remember that next time, but when I am having a good time I forget about INR's.:D :D :D :D

Sounds like it's time to treat yourself to a big tasty spinach salad. The kind with the bacon, eggs and that sweet dressing. Mm mm.

Before I left for the reunion my inr was 3.5. Then when I got home it was 4.5 and today it was 6.8 aand there was no drinking involved. The only thing defferent was they changef my blood pressure medication.I guess it's time for liver & onions. That seems to work for me the best.

Hi Sherrin,

Sorry about your high INR but enjoy your liver and onions.

What new medication are you on?

It was great to see your Mike at the reunion. Say hi to him for me.

Hi Betty it was a pleasure to meet you and your husband. The new blood pressure meds they put me on are aldactone25mg. two tab twice daily& clonidine 0.3 1tab twice daily. This why I am on SS Disabilty because theey have never been able to control my b/p. I have been to all the local Dr.'s here and I've been IUPUI in Indianapolis and to the Cleveland Clinic , the Mayo Clinic but they wanted to keep for 3 mo. and the insurance co. didn't want to pay.My blood pressure today when I went to work out was 178/100. I guess I have to give a little more to work.

*shakes finger*

Now now, VR.COMers...let's be good now, ya here?

*peers around room*

oh...who the heck am I kidding? ;).

BTW, my INR...a nice 2.0, thank you!

If Liver & onions worked for me the best

If Liver & onions worked for me the best

I'd have to reduce my coumadin. Ptooey:p

When I've gotten as high as you, Sherrin, I skip my nightly glass o' wine and drink a V8. And have broccoli and cheese if it stays high.

Hope you get yours down pdq. And hope they eventually get that bp down. Do you get headaches from it (my husband did - that's how they found out he had hi bp)?

Hope you and Mike are enjoying this beautiful weather. Hi to both of you from Jim and me - we really enjoyed meeting you.

HI Georgia
When enyoyed meeting you and you husband. I do get headaches wwhen my blood pressure get up there. Since I had two stokes from uncontrol b/p. They are still trying all kinds of new meds. I have allergy to some of ttthee b/p meds. I have no
coumadin the last two days. I supposed to retest tomorrow.
I have done this since surgery up & down. I spent more time in the hosp. for abess tooth and minor hand surgery than I did for the heart surgery.
Thanks,or being such good friends.
Cort I hope you are feeling better. You are a sweetheart. I can't waait till you make a road trip by to see our cars, My husband enjoyed talking to you about your cars.
THanks for your help .
Have agreat week.
Sherrin Hutt

Sherrin,

Good luck with the retest tomorrow!

As for feeling better...sorta...long story, tho ... I won't bore ya'll ;).

*reads comment about being a sweetheart*

*blushes*

Awe....thank you!

As for that road trip to see you, your husband and the cars, not sure _exactly_ when that'll be. I'm guessing probably not until my Nashville TN trip next year. As I recall, you are way down in Indiana by Louisville KY...which, I have a feeling, is a bit too far for a weekend jaunt. I'm supposed to be outta town this weekend (not sure if/where I'll go yet), and then several other weekends this fall....but, I highly doubt I'll be able to make it that far down to see you. Sorry :(. As I told you at the reunion, I'll definitely make a point to stop either en route to or coming back from Nashville TN next year...and that trip is never "carved in stone" for a particular time of year.... I'll keep you posted tho for sure :)
