I am now 8 weeks post AVR/aorta repair and walking for 1 hour a day (3.5mi.) and doing the upperbody arm movements as recommended by the UAB Heart booklet. However, I have yet to start cardiac rehab, was put on warfarin for A-Fib 6 days post op,randomly have a strange heavy sensation that radiates across my chest from the midpoint of my clavicle which I'm thinking is muscle related. Sometimes it feels like someone put weights on my chest. Prior to surgery I worked my chest muscles a lot but now everything wants to go south plus the skin feels really stretched out. Also, I had a bio valve but my heart pumping is very noticeable since when it's quiet I wonder if I'm still in this world. Anyone out there with info about these matters?

Ever since my OHS three years ago my chest (scar) feels like they sewed me up one size too small. Others who have had surgery (not necessarily heart) say they have a similar sensation at the incision area.

I'm 2.5 weeks post op and have many of the same sensations. When I lay flat my heart feels like it is pounding. I checked and my pulse and blood presure are not increasing. Its very strange...My doc says is normal.
