Hi,

I'm interested in knowing if y'all experienced any type of leg pain post-catherization?

I would blow it off but the pain I feel in my lower leg (knee, calf and foot) has woken me up a few nights this week, and happens to be in the same leg that I had the catheter. It seems to be worsening, which concerns me. What I've read about DVT is that it's usually worse when walking, this pain is worse sitting or laying, so I'm not sure if it's an emergency or can wait ... Any insights/info would be appreciated before I seek med advice, (I'm out-of-town).

Thanks,

Kim, don't wait on this one. You never know what could cause it. A clot causes tremendous pain. Don't wait. Don't want to scare you, but if the pain is that bad, it needs looking at. Others will come in and make their thoughts known, so give them a chance to respond, too, before I scare you.

P.S. How is Sam - an update?

I agree with Hensylee. Don't wait, get it checked out. It could be some kind of blockage or something else. It's easy enough to check out in the vascular lab. So call your doctor today.

Good luck.

I agree, had a thrombosis in my right arm... arm turned blue and ice cold..do not wait.. let us know ..please?????

Call your Cardiologist's office NOW and ask for a NURSE. Tell her what is going on and request an immedicate examination.

If they can't see you, go to the ER.

Clot busting drugs can do wonders.

Thank you. My cardio quickly set up a sonogram of my right leg. Although I haven't heard from my doc yet, the sonogramist said she couldn't see any clots. (Big relief). I'll let you know if things change.

I've never experienced such severe pain that travels from my knee to my foot. If the sonogram is normal, then I'll probably wait it out before seeking other tests.

Best,
