As many of u know my AVR is set forv2-9 -with cath 2-8. Mom izzy really had a good post for me as im more nervous about the cath than the surgery !!

And today when I went to pre reg at mo baptist here in st Louis. I was told dr office had done everything for me. The nurse had told me that a while back - that they will handle it all. & I forgot. What a pleasant surprise to ave that done for me !

Has any one heardvif Dave has had surgery yet?

Ok. 12 days & counting. Thx in advance for your prayers & support. Nancy Jane.

Good luck nancy! I swear you're a girl version of me. I lived in STL for 2 years. and than we have the Sioux City thing in relation ( which is odd ) but all that aside ill be thinking of you on your big day!!

I'm confident all will go well. As you found out, Dr. K's office has everything taken care of but before, and after, your surgery. Your surgery is on the VR calendar, so you will have everyone's thoughts and prayers on the 9th and beyond.

You will do great. You're getting to the point where the fears start to diminish as you realize that the staff at the hospital actually does know what they are doing. It's not long now until you get over the mountain!

I was in your shoes just about a week ago...the waiting piece is the worse...do your best to be positive and think of what makes you happy...your fear will not go away and do not be afraid to express it - it is a very valid feeling - just don't dwell on it...control your feelings and focus on the positive aspects of your life. it will be a joyous moment when you come to, very hazy, but you will recall bits and pieces that will put a smile on your face. OHS/AVR is a serious procedure, but modern medicine is truly the advantage that we all have on our side.

Well said, I'm also even more convinced that the medical profession has the heart operations down.
The hospital that I went to averages 450 a year............amazing.

Nancy - since my date keeps getting changed, I can totally relate to the waiting game. At this point, I can't get excited about it since everything is penciled in.......again. But if everything goes as planned, we'll have dueling AVRs on the 9th. Stay in touch.
