PonyGirlMom Update: Last 3 weeks of steroids

I thought I would give an update. I am on my final three weeks of prednisone! (for constrictive pericarditis.) I'm now taking the lowest dose every other day.

I'm still on a really high dose of NSAIDs. I see the cardio after I finish the steroids, and I hope he will say I can lower the NSAIDs.

I hope you can lower the meds too. Prednisone and I do not get along, but it does work. Hope you are feeling much better.

I see that you just had your valve replaced. Why were you on the prednisone?

I had pericardial effusion after surgery and still have some fluid around the heart 4 1/2 weeks post op. My last pill will be this coming Tuesday. My last echo showed the fluid has decreased a bit so it is getting better! I pray you will get better soon.
