Sorry you are having such concerns.

It's time to find a new doctor or clinic to manage your Coumadin. I have been hospitilzed and placed on Heparin for an INR of 1.8. Make sure you get an answer today as to how to increase your dose. Call and demand an answer!

Good luck and keep us posted.

Take Control

Take Control

Take control. You should try to get in to your new doctor much sooner. Call the new doctor's office NOW - try to see if you can get in today. What about your surgeon's office? Can they help hook you up with somebody sooner?

Sorry to be so blunt, Chris, but you have to drive this - the doctors aren't going to do it for you.

I agree with Johnny-

Call your new doctor and see if they can obtain the results of your recent protime (INR). Do not assume the present doctor's office has the right info. Let your new doctor try to call the lab herself. And see if she concurs with what your present doctor told you to do. It's getting to the point that it is extremely dangerous for you, but the numbers might be screwed up. So let your new doctor give you a second opinion if she would be willing.

Be bold and polite, but do not take no for an answer. You've got to get the attention of a doctor who knows what they're doing.

I surely hope that this new one will give you some peace of mind and allow you to relax and that you can have faith in her skills, so you can go on and enjoy your life without so much worry.

For sure do not take any less warfarin than you did over the past week.
