Dear All,

I am 6 months out from MVR and although things have been going well I have noticed that in the last couple of weeks after some late nights and some bigger than usual weeks with exercise ie 2x very hilly runs, mountain biking I have extreme fatigue. I just want to sleep and feel like I have know energy. This makes me stress which does nothing but make it worse. Did anybody have problems with energy levels when they over did it and did any body suffer from stress associated with their recovery. Is there any natural supplements that can help boost energy levels and how long did it take to feel better.

Stevo, at 6 months, you are still in recovery (I am at 8 months). Overdoing it can bring on fatigue. We can do quite a bit of exercize, but pay for it the next few days. I've learned that if I do any hard workouts, I know I will have to take it easy for a few days afterwards.

Sounds like you've overdone it to me. When you cross the line, the body retaliates and forces you to take a breather. Relax and rest up....your body will forgive you in a few days. At 6 months, you body is still recovering on the inside so remember you still have to pace yourself.

Best wishes.

Sounds like a classic case of athletic over-training. It's certainly not unique to recovering heart patients. Even Olympic athletes are prone to it. The only thing you need is rest. Don't look for yet another drug to solve your problem. That's just heading down the wrong trail all together.
