I'm still here...

Bonny, thanks for asking.

I'm alive and well. Very busy now that holiday is over. I still lurk about vr.com nearly every day, just don't post much.

Gina, Lorraine and I are still working on the Chicago Reunion. More to follow soon.

3 years post-op this coming April.

Cheerio!

Well Hi Perry

Well Hi Perry

Good to see your smiling face..figured Gina, Lorraine had you tied up in a motel somewhere trying to make a decision on where to stay in Sept.:D Don't forget to look for me a R.V. campground.nearby. Will tow a GEO Tracker for wheels. Bonnie

Hotel;) Actually.....considering taking my daughter downtown next weekend.....trying out one of the hotels!

Since #1 would like to hit Navy Pier, the museums and aquarium. #2 the rates are really cheap right now #2 the hubby is going golfing in Florida! What a bum;) #3 I need a break and can't take off because of school. Nice three day weekend may fix that.

We have some great ideas for the Chicago reunion already. Just have to put our heads together. Hank, we are coming to Phoenix 3/22 for a week. Golf for the hubby. Hope we can meet! More info later. Christina too.

I used to visit Chicago yearly in February for work. Stayed at the Downtown Marriot--nice, but expensive. One year there was a mix-up and we had to stay at a nearby hotel for one night. It was cheap, clean, and had good size rooms. It was called the Executive somethingoranother. Just a thought. This was quite a while ago. Also, any chance you could build in a trip to Greek Town?
Regards,
Blanche

You bet ya Blance! Greek Town it is. Just love it! That may be a good spot for the main 'Fri or Sat dinner!. The proprietors down there are always very accommodating.

Would you believe I can get a rate of $95 at the Westin on Michigan Ave for next weekend. That's a $300 night hotel! Only drawback need to prepay. With a young child things change on a dime. Afraid to make that type of commitment. Plus, if we get a snow storm that could be a bummer too.

I should get on it and check groups rates down there very soon for the reunion. Mr Hank needs to decide on his date prior to.

Have I been tied up?

Have I been tied up?

Bonnie-careful now. I wouldn't want this global group of good heart folks to think we Chicagoan's are a kinky bunch!

So you're coming into town in your RV? How big is it? Will you mind if you have to park it out in the suburbs?

Years ago I drove a 28' unit from Moline, Illinois to Atlanta to exhibit at a convention (the boss hated to fly). We blew into Atlanta in that behemoth and parked it right in front of the Hyatt. I think the entire hotel staff was staring at it/us. We finally manuvered it around back and took up about 10 parking spaces.

Do you have RV travel resources that can advise on large city parking? Would be happy to make calls for you. Give me the dimensions as I'm sure I'll need them.

Cheers!

Hi Bonnie,

Can't think of anywhere downtown Chicago for RV's. Like Perry mentioned, we will check it out for you. Geeze girl I have a had enough time parking my Yukon and your bringing an RV;)

I'll check my Wooddall Camping Book..John has a cousin in Montgomery, Illinois we want to spend a night with..No big deal. Will find something...We need full hook-up..food, dog, ect. We have a tow car..

Would like to see the look on the dog's face when he or she gets "hooked-up!"

Sounds like I'm off the hook...I think it would be uncharted territory for me anyway.

Nevertheless, I'm real happy to know you'll be here and I will finally have the chance to meet you. Can you plan your route via Canton, OH and drag Ross along?

Yours truly,

I can just imagine the parking garage fee for Bonny's RV in downtown Chi- $500 a day?

I don't think I'd want to leave my dog alone in an RV in downtown Chi. I don't think I'd want to leave my RV in downtown Chi.
There might be RV parking at Soldier Field or the United Center. Dont' they park those big RV's for the networks out there? I know John Madden only travels by RV. Worth a check. The Field Musem and the Shedd have Bus parking.

What about having Bonny go out to someplace near the World Music Center and then she can use her car to get into Downtown?
That's not too bad a drive.

Anybody check hotel prices on Hotwire.com?
-Mara
