Pericardial Tissue Heart Valve Model 3000
Serial : KG6757
Lot No. 05A018
Size : 25mm

Hello from Germany,
I am a newcomer in your forum and I must say, the forum is great, especialy your runners-corner ( Active Lifestyles ).
I did a lot of races 10K, half mara, and 13 marathons before my operation.
At the moment I run my cardiac rehabilitation program ( 3 weeks ). everythings goes fine,
my cardio-doc sad today, I can do my first run atleast in 4 or 5 month, because with the age of 66 my recovery will
take a little bit longer. It,s realy funny, my doc told me the same words like Tom ( hosacktom ) " make your recovery
a one-way street. No backtracking allowed!!

By the way,
I have received about 2 weeks ago the valve-model like above mentioned on wednesday the 2. of march 2005 in the
hospital " Albertinen " ( 22457 Hamburg, Germany ), the surgeon was Dr. Rieß.
Is there anyone who can give me some information for the above mentioned Tisue Heart Valve ?

1. Is this Tissue Valve the model " Perimount Magma " ?

2. Is the model 3000 already added with the newest treatment " TFX "
(ThermaFix ) that allows more protection from calcification ?

I wrote allready to Edwards, but I have not received any answer.

Many thanks and
best regards from Germany

Günther

Sorry about my bad English!!

Hello Gunther and welcome aboard.

I can't find much on that valve. It looks to be a prerelease here in the states.

I'll let the others that have done the extensive tissue valve research attempt to answer this one.

Your English is not bad at all, don't worry about it. :)

hEY, Gunther - welcome to VR. So glad to have you as a brand new member.

Your English is fine. If you stay with us, Ross will teach you some of HIS English! :D :p

Welcome Gunther,
My husband had the Edwards Magna Valve model #3000 in December 2003. It has an anti-calcification treatment, but not the new TFX which came out shortly after his surgery. The Magna valves with tfx are model #3000TFX. If you go to the Edwards site, http://www.edwards.com/, you can email them and arrange to register the valve you have. They will send you a card with the valve model #, size and date of surgery. They are very good about responding to any questions you may send by email.
By the way your English is 100% better than my German! :)

Guten tag, Gunther. I also have the 3000 valve, but the tfx version, since my surgery was less than 2 months ago. The reply above by Phyllis is absolutely correct and I have found the manufacturer and its recent statistics quite impressive. Good luck with your rehab and running.
