Hi everyone. Went for my cardiologist appt. last Thursday abd to make a long story short, he thinks I may have Pericardial Thickening. Am going for a MRI of my heart tomorrow to take exact measurements to see of this is indeed the case. I had my surgery a year ago May (MVR) and had to have a pericardial (spelling?!) window put in 8 or 9 days later, the cardiologist said there may be som scar tissue buildup causing these strange symptoms I am having. Has anyone else experienced this thickening problem. He said if the resuts come back that there is thickening, I will need a heart cath. and more surgery. I did not ask for details as I was in shock. I am trying to be positive. I'd appreciate and info. you all can give. Thanks!!

Hi there, I have had the window surgery. There is noted 'thickening' of my LV. Normal EF (Pumping capicity). Would guess that the thickening may be caused by scar tissue? What type of surgery will you require? Removal of the scar tissue?

Hope all goes well for you. Please keep us posted.
