Hey all.

My husband pointed this out to me from a NYTimes article on the 26th of April. I figured someone else here would be all over it!! But I haven't seen anything posted (sorry if someone else started something that I missed).

They aren't saying much about it anywhere. Probably waiting for him to have the say when he returns to his anchor position.

There is a PBS blog which I may look into to see if he might want to join our forum while he recouperates. He has already been through heart surgery once, with his bypass 10 years ago.

Gina.... are you still working on the 50 year story? Here may be a truly interested and highly respected newsperson.

Thanks for posting that, Marguerite :) .

Hope all goes well for him.

Back in a "few weeks," story says. If that is meant literally, I would advise him to give himself more time to recover. The world will still be here (hopefully), PBS or no. I do wish him well.

Thanks, Marguerite- I find his choice of hospital interesting too seeing that he is based in Washington.

Marguerite,
I think the 50 year old anniversary project has gone kaput. I had an email a few months back from RCB saying he couldn't secure funding, so we were dropping it.
I think Charlie Rose had valve replacement too. I seem to remember his talking with his thoracic surgeon on a show, but then again, maybe I'm way off base!
My memory isn't as good as it use to be!
Thanks for posting this!
