I'm a 24 years old female, suffer from Congenital heart Disease ( CHT ) SUBAORTIC STENOSIS AND LEAKING.. It's been one month and a week on my delivery, I had a normal vaginal delivery at Brigham and women's hospital, and was feeling normal before giving birth, ever since after the delivery I'm feeling daily palpitations almost delay , with NO chest pain or shortness of breath
went to the hospital done blood test, EKG, monitor and everything shows that I'm ok, the doctor told me the palpitations I'm having are faster sometimes but they are not the dangerous palpitations but every time i have them i feel afraid and they are bothering me what could be the reason for these palpitations ?? could be stress since I'm away from home and feel homesick, would they go soon and feel normal again ? ( p.s : i already had two surgeries and after going back home I'll be back in a month or so to the U.S.A again to have my valve replaced , the doctor even told me to do the surgery right after the delivery to replace the valve but that would be too much for me as i already feel stressed a lot, depressed and home sick like crazy )
is palpitations after delivery are Normal ?
does any one get them in a daily basis ? ? and what the doctor told you about that?

Extraordinary,

You are one brave individual. I am not one of the symptom or surgery experts on this forum. In fact, I depend on them to keep me grounded while I watch and wait.

Palpitations happen with me, and I am now positive they are induced by stress.

You have many reasons to have stress, and anxiety.

The experts on this wonderful forum will give you some comforting advice.

First, congratulations on the birth of your baby.

From what I read on websites related to women's heart health, it is normal that palpitations can be related to stress and anxiety, and to physiological and hormonal changes. You had a normal delivery!! What a brave strong young woman you are!

Keep this strength up and push yourself a little bit more, though you had gone through a lot so far. With you heart's history, I encourage you to see a cardiologist for peace of mind to make sure your palpitations are not related to other reasons!?

I'm not sure if you had an echocardiogram? Or if the doctor at the hospital is a cardio?! You've been very brave and so you owe it to yourself that you take good care of yourself by seeking the right advice from the right professionals who know your health and heart conditions best!

Good luck.

Please keep us informed.
