HI
i am quite worried. I am 4 month after surgery replacing my aortic valve. Since the last month i am back to normal. Driving Kids to sports, all the homemaker jobs and work 29 hours a week. It was always a lot. In the beginning I did easy. I had more engergy than before op. Now I am hurting at my heart and the pain is even felt between the shoulder blades. I had this pain before ca. 6 weeks after op. when I over did it. I am scared. I know I have to make some big decisions regarding my work and I don't know which way to go. I am just worried my body is not holding up. Please included me in your prayers I seems to crack up emotionaly and physically. I am unable to make desisions.I am in a mess.

Kind regard

First off - you have been added to my prayers.

Secondly - you need to go see your doctor. There are so many things that can be causing such pain. It can range from muscle strain, to pericarditis (an inflammation of the heart sack), to problems with your valve. It is almost impossible to determine without seeing your doctor.

I will pray that you have just done too much and have pulled a muscle. However, pain such as you describe, is something that must be checked.

Please call your doctor right away. If you are having really severe pain and SOB, go to the ER.

And let it be known that you may have to see more then one Doctor! Some simply dismiss female complaints without investigating further. I've seen many blown off with legitimate issues.

Eowyn,

It's tremendously difficult to accept that we have to move forward then back if we experience chest pain, but it's a sign that we have to be kind to our healing bodies.

It also means that we have to push our doctors for answers. Chest pain requires a full work up. And if you don't get the answers you need, get a second or third opinion.

Don't be discouraged. We're here for you. Let us know what you find out, OK? You'll be in our prayers.

God bless,

Thanks, Ross. I'm living proof, and here today because a little Frenchman named Pepine believed in me. That same man has dinner with George and Laura Bush.

Long story, but true. I'm finally healing.

Best,

I agree with everyone here, get to a doctor th check those pains out asap. I will pray for you and you let us know how everything goes. Hugs for you today.

As everyone has suggested, CHECK IT OUT.

I've had both Coronary Artery Disease, a heart attack, angioplasties, and ByPass Surgery, and Aortic Valve Replacement. For ME, a pain between my shoulder blades often accompanied heart pains due to Coronary Artery Blockages. These can be diagnosed by a Heart Catheterization. This possibility is often discounted in Women, especially younger women. Keep pushing until you get a proper diagnosis and treatment plan!

Back MUSCLE pain can come and go for MONTHS following OHS. Massage was FASTER and MORE EFFECTIVE at relieving back muscle pain than pain medications, at least for me.

Best wishes,

Thanks from the bottom of my heart.
I did see a doctor. He said everything seems fine. He took some blood and sent it of to the lab. I just have to wait for the result. He kind of ruled erything serious out, by looking at my vital signs. I still have the pains and I am still feel tierd and weaker than usual. Maybe I caught a virus and just have to fight it of.
Although I am relived hearing the dignoses I still feel quit depressed. I hope I get out of that dark mood soon. I am so teary it all seems to much for me.
Kind regards

Eowyn,

Although I haven't experienced OHS yet, I've read from many others in our community that the emotional scars take a long time to heal. I felt a small bit of what you must've felt when I had an extensive catherization recently. The hardest part was saying good-bye to my little ones ... my seven-year-old thought I would never come back! It broke my heart, and still bothers me to this day. Children known when we're hurting or at risk.

I don't know if you're open to this, but anti-depressants can help. You need to get well on every level, including healing your proverbial heart.

Blessings,

In other words, he DISMISSED your complaints with a smug condescending response? VERY COMMON for women in all parts of the world apparently.

I don't know how he could possibly rule out Coronary Artery Disease with a simple blood test, but then I don't know your risk factors either, such as age, family history, diet, etc. He MAY be right, but how does he KNOW without further investigation?

Hello again,
I got the result of the blood test. They seem to be alright.
I still have the pains but my sore troat is nearly gone and my body feels stronger again. I did notice that Woman complains are not taken too seriously, and get absolutly inraged by it.
Well Kim I think I have to tell my doctor how I feel. Everybody who knows me thinks I am amazingly tough and did it all so easly. Doctors think I am a very good example of a success story. The only time I actualy voiced how I feel was on this side. You are the ones who most likely understand what happened to me. My emotional state is like a rollercoaster. I can be on a real high one day and the other day I fall to bits. I am still so vunerable. I might need to tell my story from A to B, get it all of my chest have a really good cry. Maybe I have to take some antidepessent to kick start my healing of the emotional scar.
Thank you all
with love
