Pain/swelling coumadin

I had pain in my toe area which proceeded with bruses after that cleared up part of back of neck /behind shoulder blade it began to hurt where i could not move it for about 1 week then it began to swell and i have noticed brusing on my behind my shoulder when i cough the musle near my heart if there are any there hurt what do i do each time i go to the dr he says its noting i know my body its not nothing i believe its from my INR TOO HIGH i guess i need to go into my dr which one regular one or cardio someone help im in pain and im worrieid and im a stay at home mother im so tired of this thanks for letting me vent love all of you chris

I hope Al Lodwick or someone with relevant knowledge will check in soon. I have a vague recollection about something called "Purple Toe Syndrome" or some such name that I 'believe' is related to high INR. Maybe a GOOGLE SEARCH will give you more information.

Bottom Line: If you are having problems / symptoms,
INFORM your DOCTOR.

Chris-

I know that you are focused on Coumadin as the culprit, but you may be ruling out some other issues that need attention. It may not be Coumadin at all.

I think you should make an appointment with your Primary Care Physician and have some testing to find out exactly what it is.

I don't think anyone here is able to diagnose what it could be. So please call your doctor tomorrow and get in to see him.

Purple toes almost always occurs immediately after starting warfarin or if you have been off of it - restarting.

I didn't have PTS .the first time i began to experience this pain was when I would I flexed my feet to stretch my legs i would experince muscle pain that would last about 5 days soon there after I would have bruses on my legs and feet once the bruses would appear the pain would disappear.we all know our body better than anyone esle and its important to be awear of what it trys to tell us .I am experinces this a little behind my shoulder which has crawled up to my neck area its hurts am not too flexable in that area I recently noitced brusing in that area which tells me by experience that it is usually bleeding in the tissues or muscles or somewhere.my question is will the bleeding stop on its own I am going to dr tomorow thank you for all your help chris

I went to my cardio this morning had Protime done it was up from 5.0 8.0 I told the nurse that I was expericing bruses and muscle pain in legs/shoulder she said ill call the dr she did he said hold two days of coumadin come back on wed to check INR again last time it was 5.0 he increased it i was taking 3mig mon- fri on weekends 1 1/2 mgs then he increased it too 3 mig after it was 6.0 what the heck ?

You need to find a new coumadin manager as soon as possible. I hope you have the ability to change clinics or managers.

I went to my cardios office to have my protime done drove 20 mintues to get there and they said the nurse that did the pt wasnt in until late today all that gas wasted and my time they told me to come in today i said ill be back tomorrow just venting thanks for listening
