Toothache is usually a sign that you have an infected tooth. Infected teeth usually do not heal by themselves. Usually, an infected tooth requires either a root canal or an extraction to fix. I do not believe that there are any other cures for an infected tooth. You might get temporary relief from the pain with pain killers, or the pain might go away for awhile, but if the tooth is infected it will come back, even worse (i.e., much, much worse). The tooth could become abcessed, and then you're really in trouble. Strongly recommend you go to your dentist or to an endodontist and get it at least checked out. You probably need a root canal. If you wait, an extraction may be your only option. Also, infected teeth can lead to endocarditis, which is another bad thing you don't want to get. And, folks with valve problems are much more likely to get endocarditis than folks that don't have valve problems. If your tooth is sensitive to hot foods it is a bad sign, i.e., that it is probably infected. If the tooth is sensitive to cold food it is not as bad, and may not be infected (but still could be infected).
