Pain in the neck ;0)

Does anyone else have pain or sensitivity over the arteries in your neck? I have felt my pulse and murmur there fairly strongly for a while. I have also noticed that I have been aware of the area more lately - no pain, just feels different. Since yesterday, I have noticed the sensitivity, to the point of soreness. I can feel the murmur very strongly there now. It doesn't hurt badly, but feels very strange, especially when I turn my head far around. The other side of my neck also feels different, but not to the same extent. It is not a huge worry or anything, just wondering if anyone shared these feelings - maybe why the change. I am really aware of it all the time, and find myslef putting my hand over it often, as if I am trying to hold it down. Just wondering....

You know, Piper, so many of us have had the wierdest sensations prior to surgery (days, months, years.....). We just can tell things are not right. Many of us report them to our doctors only to be looked at quizzically and not taken too seriously. Still and all, I wouldn't hesitate to report the feeling to a nurse. You might get a good answer....at least a better one than I'm giving!!

I think these feelings will go away with the surgery. All of my wierd ones have. But are your feelings indicative of something significant? Best to ask someone who would know for sure.

Hi there:

Can't say I've had that exact pain, but various things did pop up prior to surgery. The good thing to know is, you will be fine, and you'll actually feel better after the surgery (it will take some time naturally).

So do your best to focus on all the things that are working well (like 99% of your body) -- and ignore the aches.
