Everything with the Aortic valve went well and i thought i was going home today. But late last night they "Saw" something on the TriCuspid valve that they want to check out with a heart MRI. I think it was just going too well and they want to scare me. There has never been any issue with anything except the Aorta. Keep praying please.

Other than a few minor issuses everything has been wonderful. Some of these support people are saints. And of course the surgeons are best.

They kept the opening to about 4" and only one drainage tube.

Great to see your post-surgery post!

Good news about your surgery and nearly getting home! The MRI is most likely an extra precaution, but it must be worrisome. Good luck on that as well.

Paco ~ My best wishes and prayers are with you. I hope that they find nothing further is wrong with you after doing the heart MRI. I'm so glad to hear that you're doing great otherwise and that you have lots of good caring doctors and nurses and that the surgery wasn't too bad. Please let us know how things turn out for you. ~HUGS~ Dawn-Marie

Paco...sounds like your surgery went about the same as mine. Mini-AVR and only one drainage tube. Do you remember the name of the nurse in ICU ? Hopefully whatever it is they are looking at is a non-issue and you can get yourself home and on the road to recovery.

Best of luck !

Glad to hear you are doing better! Here's hoping that the MRI is just a precaution and nothing major. Take care of yourself!

They still can't figure our what they are seeing...

They still can't figure our what they are seeing...

I can't go home yet because they are trying to figure out something they picked up during an echo of my Tricuspid. (all worked was performed on the Aorta) Since i have had a very minimal fever (99.4, 99.8) they want very much to fugure out what they are seeing before writing it off. We have done the Echo that turned it up. We have done an Xray. We have 2 blood and 1 urine cultures "cooking". Today we did a CatScan. And Monday they will do a trans Esophagal Echo (pardon the spelling... its the drugs...)

Has anyone every experienced this type of a situation? Any ideas?

I know that a serious infection means going back in with the big guns and no option for a mini. The doctors keeping expressing that as very unlikely (But i think everyone here knows that "Bad things DO happen" sometimes.

I'm soooo doped up that it's tough getting all information i would like to see.

Any previous experiences similar to this out there????

No experience, Paul, but I will keep you in my prayers that this turns out to be "nothing" and you are soon on your way home. It's a weekend and slow here, but hopefully someone will be along soon with more experience.

Sorry Paul I can't help either. But may I suggest to have a family member or friend to help you understand more clearly about the information your receiving? Just a thought.

Thoughts and Special Prayers coming your way my friend.

PACO512 is home and happy

Sorry for not updating sooner, but i seem to fade too soon to get to everything i want in a day.
As an update...

They saw some kind of tissue fold (as best i can describe it) during a echo scan about 3 days after surgery and that prompted a series of further tests... ending in a Trans Esoph scan that palin and clear eliminated the bad possibilites and they let me go home at 8 days.

I am recovering at a fair pace and look forward to full freedom.

My energy level is up greatly from my .6 CM pre surgery flow and i can say without a doubt that thru the pain and pain meds i can still feel the difference. The heart throb is something to get used to, but that is a result of all that extra blood flow. I kind of welcome it.

THe mini AVR left me with a 3 1/2" long scar and 1 tube hole. Not bad. I don't know how they can work thru that small an opening.

Prayers of thanks for all your prayers and supportive comments.

Hi Paul ~ It's simply WONDERFUL news that your home and feeling much better! It must be nice to have such a small incision...i'm green with envy. My dr. doesn't know how to do the minimally invasive surgery, so when i have surgery in June i'll have to have the large incision.

My best wishes and prayers for a continued smooth recovery. I hope you feel better with each passing day.

...i seem to fade too soon to get to everything i want in a day.

*chuckles*

I seem to have that same problem ... heh.

Good to see you post ... and give us an update. Sure sounds as if things are going well for you. Thoughts/prayers continuing, of course.
