Ovie's open heart surgery update

[Ovie]

This is Ovie's mom. He wanted me to let you know he went through the valve replacement surgery and he is now out of surgery. He has to wake up before they can say he made it through...that he didn't have a stroke. It will be about an hour before they will wake him up. Good news...the surgery went well and his valve was leaking much worse than the cardiologist told him it was...it was WIDE open. So it is good he got it done when he did.

Just letting you all know he made it through and I will post again once he wakes up and we know he made it through without complications.

Thank you so much for the update. I've always thought that surgeries are much worse for the family - I can only imagine what my parents and siblings went through during mine - so hang in there.

Thanks for the update. We've been watching for this and will be here when Ovie is ready to rejoin us. I expected he would do fine - tell him that I tried to flatten as many of the speed bumps for him as I could.
