Out of the blue

So l received a call from diagnosis imaging on Thurs morning at the hospital reminding me of my Friday night appointment for my MRI. A reminder

never even got the initial phone call. But in any event l went apparently the surgeon ordered it through my GP. For a better look at what's going on with an 80 blockage in my neck that was discovered in May during my heart Cath. To help the surgeon and the nuroligist possibly a sent pre OHS .. l guess we will see how fast we move from here.

Wow! Out of the blue is right! Take it as a step in the right direction. Heads up however...when my heart catch showed a 70% blockage in my left artery I was told that if I wanted a stent it would delay my OHS by months, so a bypass was performed when they did my AVR. I don't know if it would be the same delay for a carotid stent though. In any ev not, at least they are moving forward.

Honeybunny my thoughts exactly. I am afraid that delay may be the case. I had a very short discussion about with the surgeon in Sept and of course he looked puzzled that it hadn't been delt with. lm in triage in the central data now for monster waiting for tge first available neurologist so praying the heart sergeon doesn't insist now we do a Stent and delay this into next year

l am sure you are right honeybunny about delays .. even for carotid. I'm anxious to see what may evolve this week Out of the blue.

HarrietW - Am I understanding that you did not know your neck artery was blocked? But that someone noticed it months ago?

I have known this for a long time at least 1.5 years 2 maybe longer because it gives me alot of problems. It was confirmed in May during a heart Cath preparing me for double value surgery. I have been on a waiting list since May to see a Neurologist.. All of the sudden out of the blue l was called in for an MRI Friday night so they must finally be looking into doing something or my name has finally reached the top of the pile although like l said l did have a discussion Sept 22 with my heart surgeon but like honeybunny says it quite likely will postpone value replacement if they decide to do something about it in the next few short weeks. Feels like l'm going to stroke all the time all the signs.
