sort of. Actually, in the movie "Dreamer" is featured a restaurant in which one of the characters works. The restaurant is on main street here in Frankfort, Kentucky. The restaurant used to be called Marshall's. In the movie it is called Backstretch Diner. It's a very old restaurant (greasy spoon)...busy place for breakfast and weekday lunch. We just saw the movie tonight and enjoyed it very much. Most of the movie, I believe, was shot in nearby Versailles, which is of course a big horse industry town (big in horse industry, not in size, that is).

That's cool, Wise, plus there's another big movie out called Elizabethtown about that general area. Kentucky has gone Hollywood!!!! :D :D

Our town too!!!

Our town too!!!

We also had a movie in our town...."North Country"....the movie was filmed on location of the actual events. Quite a production to get to Subway on lunch break when you have movie trailors, cords, police cars etc downtown. It was rather exciting and of coarse all the locals had their own personal 'star stories' of having a beer with Woody Harrelson....

I have not been to the movie itself yet, but everything but the actual court scenes are right here on the Iron Range!

Dreamer looks like a great movie. My daughter is anxious to see it!

2 weeks ago they were filming Angels in Montgomery with Toby Keith and Kelly Preston(John Travoltas Wife) in my small town. Kellys birthday was Wednesday and John Ttravolta flew in to surprise her with a huge cake. She actually passed out pieces of it to the crowd. I heard Willie Nelson was there one day visiting. Of course I have to work and couldn't hang out like some lucky people. We did see Toby Keiths bus as we went to dinner one night. Then they moved on to film in the small town my husband grew up in at the high school he went to(its now a private school). I will have to go see the movie when it comes to our town.

Yes, that's true. Supposedly some of that film was shot in Frankfort as well. Will have to go see it to see if I recognize anything.

Some of the others have chimed in about films shot in their towns. That's certainly cool as well...and the actors in those films seemed to be much more accessible than they were here.

Your daughter will love the film. This is a great family film...teaches the importance of family relationships. You'll enjoy it too.

Toby Keith in a movie - now that will be interesting. Wonder if the Dixie Chicks will see it? :D

I think the Dixie Chicks are banned from seeing the movie. Just joking. But, their remarks did not do their careers any good. Toby has had lots of hits since their remarks and the Dixie Chicks aren't even allowed to be played in most stations in Atlanta. I love Toby Keith, as do my daughter(31) and grandaughter(10). I am 54.
