There's snow in these here mountains :p We woke up to a beautiful blanketing of snow this morning and it's still coming down. Not much, just enough to cover the ground and trees and make everything white. I'm sure they got more just up the road in Aspen and Vail than we did, they're at a little higher elevation than we are.
I'm not so sure I'm ready for winter, but it is so beautiful when it snows. Our family is big into snowmobiling and my husband and teenage son love to snowboard and ski, so snow is what we need!! I had to give up skiing a couple of years ago because of bad knees. That was a hard one to give up, I've been doing it since I was a little one, now with the open heart surgery and rat poison, it's probably a good idea that I don't do it anymore. So many people getting head injuries from skiing, I surely don't need that!!

I am a snow lover. We don't get much in Georgia where I live, but every once in a while we get a surprise and actually can get out and play in it. Of course, they practically shut down the whole state when it snows here.
Enjoy the view from your first snow of the year.

I'm a snow lover and a skiier, so I'm a little jealous Dee. Its raining here in Michgan. Our son is a student in Utah and they have had 90" so far this fall where he skies at Alta. He is quite excited to say the least and is trying to convince us to join him for Thanksgiving for some skiing. Enjoy the scenery, snow can be so beautiful (until you have to shovel it).

If our Michigan rain had been snow, we might have had those 90 inches!

When we went to Colorado Springs right before the reunion, there was snow on the ground, and the road to Pike's Peak was closed because of the snow. But with the sun so bright, it was shirt sleeve weather, which seems so strange to this flatlander.

You people are plum loco. You want snow, move where I am or even where Gina is, get through winter and tell me you still like snow!

Would love to see it again!

Would love to see it again!

Snow, what's that?!!LOL!! I haven't seen it since I left Scotland but at least I have some nice pictures to help me remember what it felt like being in the snow. Bruna, my seven year old daughter, is dying to see it and build some snowmen but going to Scotland now is totally out of the question! I guess she'll just have to keep on dreaming for now. Anyway, although the temperatures here in the South of the country aren't as hot as I'd like them to be just yet, I'm looking forward to doing some serious sunbathing once the hot weather really does come in. We're still in spring.

It's getting to a high of 74 today in rainy, damp Chicago. It's October 29 and I refuse to put on a tank top!!!! The turtleneck is staying on.

I LOVE snow, but I hate cold without snow.

Cindy,
You should go visit your son in Utah for Thanksgiving!!! It's probably the best snow ever for this early in the season!!! 90" is unheard of this early!! Go and enjoy it!! You'll be sorry if you don't ;)

You right Dee I should go. Life is short and my son is a senior so he won't be in Utah much longer. I will probably regret it if I don't. Of course he likes to ski so much he will likely move somewhere someday where the skiing is good. I agree with Karlynn, snow is great but cold without snow is the pits.

Pam~ it's not windy right now...it was a little windy earlier and it's also stopped snowing as of now, but the weather forcast says we'll be getting some more tonight. I'm sitting here trying to decide if we're going to the high school football game tonight or not. The game is over by Vail, so it's going to be even colder over there. I think hot chocolate and a good movie or book is sounding pretty good at the moment. :) I'll let the kids go freeze their 'you know whats off' if they want too!!

I must brag about our weather over here on the west side of the continental divide.....we very rarely have blizzards or ice storms, usually when it snows over here, it snows big beautiful flakes that come straight down instead of sideways. I grew up on the eastern slope, so I know how those snow storms over there can get!!! In fact we didn't know that snow could fall straight down, we thought that it always came down sideways until we moved up here!! ;) Gotta give you eastern slope people a hard time :p

first snow!

first snow!

We had our 1st snow Sept. 27th this year :( And then some more last weekend, but it all melted. Now today it is 37 degrees and snowing again!

I hate winter! I don't ski, snowmachine, snowboard, ice skate, nothing! I do like a nice glass of red wine feet up in front of the fireplace on a cold dark snowy day. Looks like that is where I will be after work today!

Happy weekend to all of you. You can have my snow!

The weather here has been crazy!

The weather here has been crazy!

We woke up to fog this morning...which eventually burned off and we had a wonderful 75 degree day. Not bad for the end of October in Minne"snow"ta.

I talked to my daughter, who lives near Rapid City SD...and she said it was snowing there this evening!

Meanwhile...we had tornado watches out for our area this evening, because of the big differences in temperature...but nothing happened.
