A customer told me the name warfarin stands for the organization that funded the research to develope it. Any truth to this? Brian

Brian:

I heard about the WARFarin history from my ophthalmologist, of all people. Dr. Smith started out studying to be a cardio.

I'm a cheesehead by birth (Texan by upbringing), so I enjoyed hearing the story.

Interesting that even this article (which should know better) says warfarin "thins" the blood. I guess that description will never go away.
