Just checked this one out today at the Library. Has anyone else read it as of yet? Does not cover valve surgery...but a ton of other topics that are related. Wonder why he calls the book 'open heart'? Bypass surgery is not, correct?

My impression is the any procedure of the the heart that opens the rib cage is considered "open heart" When procedures of the heart are accessed by any other means, it is considered "interventional" which can be done by a cardiolgist. "open heart" can only be done by a doctor who went through a Fellowship in cardiac surgery.
