Hi All,
Went to the dentist Monday hoping for clearance to set surgery date. First time i have been to a dentist in many years and now it is payback time. Xray showed a small piece of root from tooth I lost many years ago. Dr said that had to come out before surgery. Got a quick referral to an oral surgeon for that same afternoon at 3PM and four hour later was back home minus the root piece, and 3 wisdom teeth. Surprise ! So i have kinda been out of it yesterday and today. Pain is starting to subside now but they tell me it takes 2 to three weeks for the sockets to heal so I have to wait at least that long to get a date. What a disappointment. Any updates I have missed on anyones surgery? How is Chris doing in Cleve.? Well I guess I will take the rest of the night to try to shrug this off. Got to admit I am a little depressed.

Well, at least the dental stuff is finished. I'm sorry it might delay your surgery a little, but not by much, right?

Chris had a little arrhythmia and was sent back to ICU for observation for a couple of days. We're awaiting news that she graduated once again to the step-down unit. Her pacer wires are still in place with this little problem. There's a long thread on it.

Hope your dental surgical sites aren't too painful. I have had a few times when I lost the little blood clot from the socket and had to tough out a "dry socket", not fun at all.

Take care.

Your experience is why they send us to the dentist before doing the surgery. It's much easier to deal with dental issues before replacement and repair than after. The mouth is a great place to send infection to the rest of the body and you've just decreased your chances of running into those problems post surgery. I know it's disappointing when you've set your sights on a goal and find it has to be postponed, but feel better over the fact that you've taken care of things that really needed to be taken care of.

God Bless!
Karlynn
