One year ago today I had my AVR along with replacement of my ascending aorta. I'm a golfer and we have an expression: I'm thankful I'm on the right side of the grass!
It's been a bumpy road to say the least (post-op stroke, thyroid, mild PA, crazy heart beats, etc). I still haven't given up the hope of getting back to 100% but I'm fairly certain I won't ever be the same again physically, but hey, that's life. I gain inspiration from many of you on this site that keep on trucking with problems far worse than mine.
I have my one year appointments with both my surgeon and my cardio on 7/25 and 7/31 respectively. My CTA showed three more sites on my aorta of ectasia (a polite way of saying baby aneurysm), and my echo has some issues (like PA pressure of 35, and "stuff" going on with the mitral valve). So we'll see what the doctors think. As for me, I'm pushing on with my healthy diet and exercise program, just trying to feel the best I can.
Thank you all for your support over the last year.
