Hi everyone!
Iv'e got one week to before Mitral and Aortic Valve replacement. I am assuming since I have bouts with Afib they will also perform the Maze procedure, you know what though? I'm really feeling pretty good about the whole surgery. I have had the treat of OHS hanging over my head for 45 plus years. I am now 53. So its time. I can't stress enough the relaxation and breating tapes and liturature I've been exposed to. "Healing after Surgery" by Peggy Hulddelson (sp) is great. It helps you to relax and feel better about things. I listen to the tape at least twice a day and really feel good when its finished. I can actually picture myself after surgery hiking and biking. We live in Jackson Wyoming and the areas a mecca for outdoor activity. So if you have a chance to obtain the book and tape or any relaxation media do so. When I first started posting I was real nervous about the whole the thing but the site and postings from so many has been a tremendous help!!!! Valvereplacement.com thanks for being here.

You're going to do just fine with your surgery. It will be a big relief to have it done and behind you. The whole world awaits.

Hey! Another countdown!

Using Marge's method, in just two weeks you will be recovering comfortably at home. Best of luck to you and be sure to post and let us know how you're doing. Where are you going for your surgery?

You don't sound nervous at all, in fact, you almost seem excited, or at least anticipatory, which is oddly enough what I experienced in the days leading up to my surgery. If I've read you correctly, I think this is a very good indication that you'll be a fast healer. Visualizations can be very powerful tools in my experience. If it's true that we are what we eat, as the saying goes, I believe that it's equally true that we are what we can imagine. I'm going to join you in imagining you hiking and biking-you wouldn't want to waste that beautiful area you're lucky enough to live in. I've visited Jackson Hole several times including a ski trip two winters ago-surely a little bit of heaven on earth. Keep us posted!

Are you having surgery on the 31st or sooner than that?
I just remember that Im on the 1st and I thought the calender said you was on the 31st. Any ways Good luck. I also look forward to the day when I can get out of park and into drive.
I may need to get those tapes and borrow Bryans attitude for a while.
