this might be a silly question but I have had a cold or sinus or allergy this past week. I have been taking sudafed and airborne. has anyone been told to stop taking meds before surgery? I know that I should stop the sudafed but what about the airborne? It is just a lot of vitamins like C? I am so nervous can't even think of questions to ask the surgeon next Wed. thanks, Darlene scheduled for a mitral valve repair on Apr. 6

that's what you pay them the big bucks for. If we had questions, like whether or not Katie should get her flu shot, in the two to three week window before surgery, our PC always deferred us to the surgeon.

Just my two cents, though, I cannot imagine anything in Airborne that would hurt, but that is my non-medical opinion. The only things that we ever had to stop were Katie's aspirin regimine ten days out and her meds the morning of surgery. I would definitely check on the Sudafed as they may want you to stop that 24-48 hours out just to make sure it completely clears your system prior to surgery.

Now call your surgeon's office. Hugs. Janet
