Wow, that sure is impressive!
I remember when I was 27 and living on my first farm....getting up so very early usually entailed feeding my baby and doing some chores. But when I would walk down the lane to get my morning newspaper I would discover another world...a blanket of fog about 3 feet thick covering the ground, while ponies and horses made their way through it to find breakfast or say hello.
The sun would be low and struggling to break through the magical fog and start the break of day. I would linger as long as I could and savour it all, not just the visual beauty, but the sounds and smells of a new day.

One of the reasons I am not a morning person is because I have wonderful friends who take such gorgeous memories with their cameras. I can happily sleep and kinow I will be included in God's gifts.

Thanks, Dennis, my friend.

If Dennis wasn't such a wonderful person, I'd have to hate him just because of the views he gets to see every day.

I have several Dennis photos on my fridge just to remind me that there's more to see from a window than the back of my backyard neighbor's house.

Nothing compares to ..................

Nothing compares to ..................

waking up just before sun rise, preparing breakfast, taking it out side to the east facing deck, watching the sun rising, feeding the birds, viewing their behaviour and listening to their songs--weather permitting, of course. It's absolutely glorious and valued beyond gold.

There is no other way to start the day.

Some of the best things in life are free.

Cheers

That is amazing, Dennis. Thank you. More, more, more.....bravo!!

I, too, am a morning person. So much so that it freaks everyone out how bouyantly I dive into the day. Inherited that from my father. I love the light, but for me, it's the smell and the cool freshness. It just hits you in the face; that here you have before you a brand new day and just smell how sweet it is!

Your light does that too. Hits you.

Are you at all familiar with the French Impressionist painters of the late 1800's? Claude Monet was obsessed with light. He would do repeat studies of different scenes in different light. That is part of the reason his works are so rich. He saw the benevolence of the light.

Please continue to cultivate that which is speaking to you.

Again......more, more, more!!!

Afternoon Light

Afternoon Light

Thanks to all for the kind remarks. This is one of the parts of the Rio Grande that is simply gorgeous. The late afternoon light gives a completely different kind of picture.

That truly is a beautiful picture, Dennis.
Thanks for sharing.

Yes, that one is gorgeous, too. It makes you want to feel a warm breeze come by and let those foreground bushes wave in the light. I love wheat fields for that...how the tips of the grass wave in the breeze and sparkle.

Have you tried filters of any kind on your lens? I'm always wanting to try those but know nothing about them. I know you can work the photos some in the digital darkroom, but I would think it would be fun to see what colors or polarized filters would do on the scene.
